A Flight Before Flying

Flying Dog on tap or bottled at BWI

Whether they’re coming, going or just passing through, travelers at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) can now quaff local Maryland brews from Frederick’s Flying Dog Brewery and nosh on local beef from Monkton-based Roseda Black Angus Farm.

The addition of these two familiar local brands is part of an overall effort on the part of HMS Host, which runs the BWI concessions, to give the airport experience more flair by featuring local products and brands. The storefront joins Obrycki’s, the family-run seafood spot and its sibling raw bar, R&R Seafood, as well as Silver Diner and Mayorga coffee roasters, both originating in Montgomery County.

The new restaurant serves Flying Dog’s most popular beers including Gonzo Porter, Doggie Style Pale Ale, along with seasonal brews. On the food side of the menu you’ll find Roseda beef sliders with aioli made with Flying Dog IPA and plenty of other beer-inspired offerings. Too bad you need to go through security.

The restaurant is open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. -Beth Hauptle
